Being tracked is a difficult topic. It's wrong to track someone when you don't have a warrant or an order by the courts. There has to be boundaries. Now, when you have your warrant or an order by the courts, it's okay to track someone to benefit your case. When the guy was tracked by his car without a warrant, that was wrong because, it was obtained illegally. So, hopefully that was dismissed in his case. The law is tricky when you don't know a lot about it. Knowledge is power. No matter how things take place, if you know the law, they can pull wool over your eyes.

I feel the same way, but i also feel that even if they don't have a warrant and its to save someones life then i feel that being hacked is allowed.

After reading this article, i came to an conclusion that police should be allowed to track our phone as long as they have the warrant and as long as they are using our information for an investigation. Since everyone is going to have a different point of view, i understand if you ask, what about our right to privacy? i have a logical and simple answer for you. would you rather want to let the terrorist blow up our country or stop them from doing such things? Now days everyone uses cell phone and most of the criminals operate their crimes through their cell phones. if the police are allowed to use the tracking device they will stop more crimes. police have solved several cases using the tracking device, if they weren't allowed to use the device, those criminals would still be walking free and who knows how many more crimes they would have done by now. It's just my opinion but i think police should be allowed to use the tracking device because there is a huge possibility that using the device will decrease the crime rate.

What you are saying Ram is true because nowadays criminal such as drug dealer operate there business through cellphones and having the police track them would shut down there operation, but i believe been tracked is not okay because it break the 4th amendment which the searches and seizures.

After i read this article to me i do believe police or any man or women that deals with the fbi or dea can hack and track people phones. Us people don't know it i believe its some kind of way they catch us doing particular things. but to be honest police should track criminal down if they have a warrant . that gives us citizens to realize in the hood or not if a deal is going on , police or fbi will be on the situation. its kind of weird but police has a point.

I agree with the article for many reasons. Cell phones have their positives and negatives, but I think the good outweighs the bad. For example people are very lazy now since cell phones have been invented. But they also help out with many things in society. They are used for communication, Work🍟🍔,. But they also help out with many things in society. They are used for communication, Work, and many other things. The point that this article is pinpointing is that cell phones also saves life's. Someone could be getting kidnapped, Robbed, etc. and if they have a cell phone it could protect them and save their life. And yes I do believe phones have tracking devices and then by the government. Depending on the phone it can tell you your location so that says a lot.

Being tracked is a hard topic to debate on. I feel neutral about the situation because it can be very helpful such as saving lives. I also feel that it is invading on peoples privacy and their everyday lives. This is why I feel neutral about it and that is my feeling about being tracked using cell phones.

after reading this article I realize that the human being privacy was taken away by their own leader whom the society has decide to follow. Even though our government is tracking us and going against the human right that has set up their self, the tracking of our devices by the police department or higher department has for purpose of ensuring the united states territorial security. Yes our rights are being taken away and security is provide at it place. Yes national security is not a reason to unfollow the rules they have set up themselves, As U.S. citizens, there is no reason for which our right and freedom should not be respect. The U.S. amendment set by our own government who turn out to be tracking us in any case is violating the 4th amendment which says "Prohibits unreasonable searches and seizures and sets out requirements for search warrants based on probable cause as determined by a neutral judge or magistrate". Yes our security is crucial but will you ever feel in security when your right is been denied and no freedom apply to you.

After reading Lori's comment I had a better understanding of being tracked.Being track can be both negative and positive.Without a warrant being tracked is not approved .Also we don't have any privacy, though we thought America was a free country ,it really isn't because anything we do is being tracked .For example ,our generation does nasty stuff as taking a naughty picture and sending it to your partner or accessing sites online that we are not supposed to ,or hacking others account.Though we think they are all secure they really aren't because everything we do are in a system saved.Another example is social media ,for example snapchat is affecting us teens without our knowledge.Though it tells us after 24hrs our post are gone ,they are not ,they are saved. It also might be showed in background checks. In conclusion being tracked might be secure and insecure at the same time

After reading this article,I do believe the police force should be able to track our phones. Without tracing our phones how will they know where we are in case of an emergency. If they weren't able to track that girl they would have never found her in time. She could have already been killed by time they found her. Maybe even sold, but I do believe that the police should only be able to track our phones for a case. If they are just tracking us for their own thrill then, that is wrong.

My thoughts on the article is that technology is becoming more advanced and it is able to actually save lives and be used for a more beneficial purpose. Being tracked is a gift and a curse. It is a violation of privacy but the advancement in technology has saved lives and saved people from situations where only technology can save you.

While reading i realized that tracking phones are really helpful to solve cases, from murder, drugs, or kidnappings. But then when a GPS is placed on your car, they are invading that mans privacy without them knowing. I am sure phone hacking has helped in many cases, and it is a great weapon to track down criminals. We live in an age where everything in known and connected ,and i wouldn't necessarily say that it is good or bad.

After reading this article i believe tracking people it bad without a courts permission. but it also a great idea people it will tell a a lot criminal. now a days people use phone more that email address. if it necessary to track someone phone people you see something dangerous you don't need the curt permission to do it. this will save a lot of people and it will decreased the number of crime ,rape and robbery

After reading this article I can accept the police tracking cellphones for helpful reasons, Safety of the people is and should be the main concerns of the police force. Although some people might think of it as obviating privacy it's an important thing because it'll help stop some crimes. There's a lot of people in this world that do horrible things and they deserve to be caught and if that means tracking cellphones so be it. Although I do I agree with this device tracking I have my doubts because some police officers will take advantage of that and get people in trouble with the law for their own selfish reasons. When the girl was kidnapped her cellphone ended up saving her life. A cellphone is very useful a many ways like calling, texting, internet, gps, and more. To sum this up basically I do agree with device tracking for the peoples safety but also this should be used wisely and not selfishly in the police force.

The article of "Are You Being Track" can be very controversial. Reason being because we all think differently. Some people may feel like they are getting there privacy invaded. while others may see it as something necessary to stop or avoid a crime. Personality I don't think there's something wrong with getting track by the police if its necessary. It's more about having privacy it's about maybe saving other people life's including yours. I think a life of a human being is more worthy then having privacy. There's a saying that say's "If you haven't done anything then you don't hide anything". In other words if we don't hide anything why should we get mad if they track us, especially if it's to stop a crime.

After reading this article my opinion about it is that someone should have already thought about the tracking device in peoples phones, because if that would have happen some teenagers years ago would probably would have been saved. But I'm glad someone actually thought to use the tracking device or GPS on her phone to find her because her family and friends probably would had never seen her again. And that they have used the tracking device in her phone to find her in 2011, I think now in 2015 they should continue using it to find kids that's missing now in time.

This article was hard to understand. What I mean about that is that I feel like no one has the right to track your cell phone down. But in cases like where you get kidnapped I feel like it's a good idea. So it's kind of hard to take a side. I never knew that the police are tracking your phone that takes your privacy away that's why it make it hard to understand this article. I guess we need to loose our privacy in order to be safe.

The article: “ Are you being tracked” by Eric Lichtblau of the New York Times have questioned that if it is legal to use phone for tracking people’s location. After reading the information from the article, I think it will be legal to track someone if the police have a warrant and when the court must get involved. The author also says, “ The Fourth Amendment of the Constitution protects against “ unreasonable searches and seizures”, implies that if person is being tracked without permission, there will be a problem because it violates the right of people in the Constitution. However, the use of tracking on the cell phone have lots of benefits not only in helping the police arrest the criminals but also in helping the people get rid of the dangers. For example, the author states, “ But the young woman was saved by her cellphone. Using software that tracks someone’s whereabouts by the GPS signal on their phone, police were able to intercept the truck on a remote country road…without it, she would have never been found”, as the woman had no way of even knowing where she was, the cellphone tracking technology saved her life. In conclusion, I agree that we are being tracked through our cell phones; however, it is not bad at all if we are in a dangerous situation, the police can rescue us by getting to know where we are by using the tracking devices.

It is good that we are being track, because there are some people that are be raped just because someone have followed them and there is not one to help them. And its also bad that we are being track because there are some people that doing things that is not good. Like that girl in the article she taking away from school and was put in the back of a truck. Without the help of her phone she would not have been find.

We meet again big Stan. Well let's get into this. As a citizen of the untied states of America I do feel that we are being tracked every single step we take. I do understand that the authority is using it for the citizens of America but to track their citizens every step of their way sounds a little to much. This is also violating citizens of America privacy. Citizens of America give up some rights for protection. That is what you call a social contract. Apparently we are giving up a lot of right then because the government is all up in our privacy. Thank you have a nice day big Stan.

With this new era of technology being able to track someone is no surprise. Though it might affect the peoples privacy it could be used for good; however, you will always have those crazy people, that used it for there own benefit. For example in this article they tracked the girl through her phone, but they did it because she was abducted a viable reason. To conclude even if we do try to regulate tracking with laws it will never work because we don't program or devices and people are smart enough to hack them.

My point of view on this article is that being tracked can be good and bad. You can save people's live but you can also invade people's lives. I get the whole idea of the safety reasons & how it could really benefit individuals who are in danger but it should be some type of limitation on the privacy of others as well. The police or FBI should not be able to just look into your personal life and what's going on within it, that's going against the amendments & rights we have as American citizens.

When you read sometimes like this the first thing that come to my mind is, should i get rid of my phone, but in the other I can understand why they would do something like this. First, they need to protect the whole country not only some of us, so if the majority of the citizen have cell phone, it would make their job a little bit more easier to have eyes on everyone. But in the other hand, they should understand that the people are worry about their privacy, so in my opinion I think they should make this public before they start doing this, just so people know what are they doing with their phones.

I feel like tracking someone is wrong without any warrant. People have the right to privacy and this is being violated when tracking someone of hacking someones phone. however in some cases it's OK, like to try to find a kidnapped victim like, or try to find a terrorist, but been able to do it in any case scenario is wrong. the Government should use it to prevent thing from happening like a terrorist attack. that being said it should be allowed in some cases but not all.
