The article was mighty well to read. Shows that sterotypes still and will always countiune till this day and in the future. The young boy brought a home made clock and the people around knew what his kind was able to do. The people thought it was a bomb but sadly it was only a clock. This boy has talent and shows how little kids like him are the future. The boy is Muslim and just because of his background he was told that he had a bomb but anyways this boy did not have a bomb but a clock. Americans take everything to Serouis but I do understand why they take it so serious. For the safety around people. 9/11 made Americans change their view on Muslims or any one from the Middle East. The boy needs an apology for what they did. Americans can be so disrespectful but you have to understand why Americans think that. It is only for our safety. You have to understand.

I think it's was the right thing for them to have arrested him on the spot. Because it could have been an actually bomb so I'm glad they got him in time. But I think what Obama said was cool, because once he figured it was a bomb he took it as a joke and was like, "Cool clock, Ahmed. Want to bring it to the White House? We should inspire more kids like you to like science. Its attachments hat makes America great." And by Obama saying all that probably made Ahmed feel a little better after he had been arrested recent on.

I am so against what happened to Ahmed Mohamed he is only 14 I don't understand how people can be so cruel and racist. Why should how a person look determine who they are inside? just because he is a Muslim people are so quick to Judge. It's so wrong that the school had him suspended for 3 days thinking he had a weapon in his bag what Crime Did He Commit? It's nice to know that many people were also against what happened like The President, Twitter, etc... He deserves all the positive fed back he is getting.

After reading the article about ahmed situation ,it made me realize how some people in america are too judgemental and quickly to judge muslims or people with muslims names, because of other situation that happened relate d to a group of muslims.,i believe this is not okay especially when is a teacher whose involved in this situation, the teachers are the ones we look up to and are the ones who are supposed to help us make this world a better place and teach us that judging is not good but they are doing it ,and the horrible thing is that the teacher didnt take times to investigate it but instead lock the buy up and got him suspended for 3days because of a home mad clock and the fact his a muslim

This article really got me upset! I feel like they took action before receiving further information and that put Ahmed in a very uncomfortable situation. The school, as well as peoples involved, should publicly apologize to Ahmed and his family because that's humiliating. His parents should have approached the school board and overturned his suspension because he did nothing wrong. The school officials should be suspended because they were WRONG.

I am very upset about how the school system handled this situation! Ahmad was not rewarded at all by his school, instead he is being bullied for something that he cannot control. Which is his race, just because a person looks a certain way it doesn't mean you can treat them a certain way.

This article shows the discrimination in the United States while all the people are living in the same environment as well as the same society, and it specifies to a high school student, whose name is Ahmed, suffers a racism issue. The article says that Ahmed was arrested because of a clock he made for school, he was detained for several hours before they realised that wasn't a bomb but just a clock( in the first paragraph). It is so cruel that the school blame on him for bringing a bomb to school, how can a kid with his age can do such that thing. Besides that, the school, where he attends to, is the one who alerted the police about the clock. I do not agree with the way of solving a problem in his school; moreover, they did not say sorry to Ahmed after all the thing had happened, his school also suspended him for three days. I think it might be deeply hurt to him. Ahmed also says: " Because of his religion, other kids at school called him "bomb maker" and terrorist" or even in the article, it states " Ahmed's arrest has once again put the spotlight in the US on the issue of Islamophobia and how Muslims are perceived and treat" ( second paragraph). Through these sentences describe the issue, i can tell that not only the story but also the article itself emphasis clearly the discrimination issue. However there are some people who have a passionate and fair enough to understand such as president Obama or the facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg by supporting and encouraging to Ahmed. I think people like him is deserved to have that prize.

The article was very touching. It showed me that stereotypes and other things like that still extist, and just reading about it made me feel some type of way. Even though I could not imagine the things he felt while the police help him in that room. Treating him like a person he clearly was not. That's embarrassing, after that whole situation he had to go back to school and probably sit in that same classroom. Shaking my head.

my opinion on the article is that ahmed was treated unfairly due to his race and religion. i feel like the school suspended ahmed for three days after the incident so they can cover this misunderstanding that they had about ahmed NOT bringing a bomb to school.

As soon as i read the first paragraph,my first thought was racism ,because of his name and religion. They did not try to figure out what,he built or then purpose of him bringing it to school.I agree that they wanted they wanted to assure safety for the other children .Due to stereotypes most arabics and muslims are terrorists but not all of them.It is traumatizing for a 14 years old to be treated the way he was.It is unfair because after being handcuffed ,he still got suspended for no reason .It seems as the school had to make it look like it is his fault without admiting their false accusations though they figured the truth out.I just think it's sad ,you can't judge a person by it's looks(religion, ethnicity, culture). If he could press charges ,i think he should.

I don't agree with what happened it wasn't right. One reason is because they waited to say anything to him, if they thought it was a bomb why didn't anyone leave the class soon as they saw it. Secondly they didn't even ask him what it was so how can they just assume it was a bomb. I would like to know where his parents were and how they felt about the situation. In my opinion it's great that his story went viral, and i think its pretty cool that he got invited to the white house. But at the end of the day i say they tried to cover there self because they knew they were wrong.

The assumption made about the teen was wrong. But it just shows racism and stereotypes will always be existent. Small and narrow minded individuals keep these things alive. But as always the government did a great job covering it up. You'd think we would be righting the wrong that was committed but no. He still has this in his mind. And its up to him he wants to move on from it. The school still kept those 3 days on his record, which should have been dismissed but the school just didn't want to look stupid. But in the long run, doors we opened from this. So, I hope he takes this negative and flips it into a positive.

This article is about a young Muslim boy who brought his homemade science project to school. The project that he brought to school was a clock he made. He was arrested for his clock because it was perceived to be a bomb. He was wrongly arrested and interrogated for several hours. This goes to show that 1 incident can cause a whole country to stereotype a whole group of people.

this article is all about how the people see the Muslim, and how just because a Muslim little boy made something from scratch, they think it is a bomb or something dangerous, but but they don't realize that they have might destroy a teenager life by scaring him, taking him to the police, suspending him, and just because he is from a certain religion, for example the article says "other kids at school called him bomb make and terrorist."so they already teaching the next generation that racism exist and that it's okay to do it, even though is not as common as in the past. in my opinion the older generation is telling the next one that is "OKAY" to be racists, and how just be your religion you're consider a terrorist in the eyes of some people.

When i first heard about this i was on my tablet scrolling through the news feed when i saw a 14 year old boy got arrestead for making a clock of course he would because of his skin color. That's to show that racism is still alive today and that it never ended just because we sit with each other and socialize with different races don't mean there aren't racist people out there.I am glad he got invited into the white house to show people that color isn't a factor when it comes to intelligence.

i believe this story was very sad. if he had been white it would have been a different story. they were very wrong. they judged based on his name and race. and they still suspended him after they found out it was a clock

when i read this article i feel very bad for the boy. Because he try to make something and the the that you try to do turn against. sometimes good can turn out to be bad.He was to jail and about six days and they find that what he did was not bad,but the police still keep in just they are ashame of what they did.

This article is about how people make assumptions on people based on their looks, were they come from. Even though this kid got an offer of an internship from twitter, google invited him to a science fair, and got invited to the white house, he got classified as a bomb maker and possible terrorist. The police took several hours to figure out that this clock wasn't a bomb. Despite the fact that he was found wrongfully accused the still got suspended for three days. Instead of being proud of him for his accomplishments they punished him.

I don't agree with the school because they did the wrong thing with Ahmed Mohamed they called the police to arrested him and to interrogated him about the clock bomb that he had made and them the school suspended him for three days because of the supposedly bomb. Them he start getting famous i think because he get an invitation to the White House to meet the president. Twitter gave him a internship and more invitation from Facebook and Google.

I was impressed to read it because it was an injustice what they did with the teenager just being a country of terrorism and what they did was racist and that should otherwise.

When I was reading the article I couldn't believe what I was reading. What they did was racist and unfair. Ahmed Mohamed only mistake was the way he look and where he was born. He was a innocent boy who just came to school to do what he suppose to do. He was using critical thinking by creating a clock for his school. Instead of the school being proud of him they called the cops not only that but the police handcuff him without even knowing if he was guilty or not. Which shows how racist they were being towards poor Ahmed. After he was proven innocent they still suspended him from school. The way they did things were terribly unfair.

This article was very interesting but not surprising to me.The school was very wrong to stereotype him and then punish him after they was wrong. Why can't he just be that smart and interested in the things that he do. He made his on creative clock and i feel like because of his race they expected it to be a bomb. The school should be ashamed of themselves they made him feel like an outsider. But overall I am glad he got the opportunities to do certain things with his knowledge and the president and others reached out to him.

This article has really opened my eyes, that racist and judgmental people are still around. Especially now, but I never would have never thought it would have been in school. Especially, not coming from a teacher. The thing that gets me the most is how the students weren't evacuated from school, but it was such a danger. Right, he is a child, there is no reason for them to treat him like that. He worked really hard on an invention that, he probably stayed up all night doing. If they did escort him out, that could have kindly happened without handcuffs. Bottom line they owe this young man an apology.

The event this article talks about is one of many events that has happened in and America and how racist most of us can be. I am not surprised due to the fact that racism has existed for many years. All of this happens based on how we are raised. Kids our age grew up believing that anyone who was a Muslim or looked like an Aerobic were consider terrorist, due to the 9/11 event. This doesn't mean I agree but I understand why they thought Ahmed's invention was a bomb.

When reading this article it actually frustrated me. They did not have to do Ahmed like that I really feel as if that school should have been shut down. First of all, the school judged him off his looks thinking he was terrorist. When all along it was a handmade clock for educational purpose. They didn't say nothing to him just detained him. Then, once they actually found out it was just a clock they felt stupid and STILL suspended him. They were trying to cover it up to make themselves look better. I am glad the situation told out bright for Ahmed with his future, because shouldn't nobody be treated like he was.

This story opened my eyes. it made me realize that racism still exists. It´s sad how people start making assumptions about you even before knowing you. I can connect to Ahmed. people have told me things before. some people said that i look like a terrorist. Itś sad and it's hard being a brown skin in America.I was really happy seeing how President Obama, mark zuckerberg and other famous people support Ahmed. It made me feel safe, knowing that America is not a racist country, it's just some people. I read the article and it made me feel that the school owes him an apology and a huge explanation. Something i learned from this article is that, you can’t expect everyone to be nice to you.

I feel that stereotypes can ruin a persons life. This boy was just doing what he was told to do and he got accused of trying to blow up the school just by his race and look. If that just because how someone looks doesn't mean that makes out who the person is inside. Now this young man can live life with out being judged. Never judge a book by its cover.

After reading this story i see america is more focused on race and religion. many people think if you Muslim or have a long bears the think you a terrorist wish it not true. a terrorist can be anyone. the kids got arrested just because he create a home made clock to impressed the teacher. he got arrested because the teacher though it was a bomb the ridiculous and i don't think that fair the school and the teacher hold him an apology.
